Issue: Social Illness VS Religion VS. Culture VS Economy
Bismillahirahmanirahim….
Recently I came across an interesting article in one of the local newspaper.. A man wrote it…To make it short, he wrote that he was in a relationship.. the partner was said to be the best choice for him as a candidate to be his wife…soft spoken, polite, good character, decent appearance and just name it, its all there… they planned seriously to get married…one day, the woman came to him with the intention to confess something… he took it lightly but the woman insist..so she did it. She confessed on her previous dark days of history while she was going through her teenage life. She was wild and had heavy social life..she is no more “anak dara”… The man was shocked and disappointed…since then, he didn’t contact the woman but he said he missed the woman…
Now, the analysis…
First of all, credit should be given to the woman for the guts in confessing it. Not many would be brave enough to do it…she did the right thing before its too late…
It is common nowadays to hear things like pre marital sexual relationship, living together without marriage, free sex and so forth…when it comes to marriage, some men are particular on the virginity of his partner ..that if the man was brought up decently with a good eastern culture practice..if we talk about this nowadays, people define this as “KOLOT” , “this is millennium..everybody is practicing it” ..…if a man raised this issue to a woman…the woman will fire back by saying “ you want the woman or her virginity?? Partly its correct then…but would it be fair for those good man / woman ? of coz not…when you eat a fruit, would you eat a fruit that was partly eaten by somebody else? of coz you want to have fresh fruits…more or less same implication of concept.. but depends on the culture…. Lets say the man married the woman due to his love, somehow, deep inside his heart would remember the history of the woman and this will remain forever till the dooms day and till he marries a “bidadari” in heaven..
The point is.. what do we want & expect? Sex is not everything in marriage & relationship…
In Japan, a documentary showed a man’s partner working as a prostitute to earn for living…why? Because of love I guess…
If a man / woman is a widower / divorcee, it’s a totally different case… the level of acceptance by the man mentioned above is definitely different….because he already knew the history of that woman…I could understand how the man feels..I don’t blame him either for not accepting the woman…Im sure he’s a “teruna”..probably so called “ lelaki melayu terakhir”….
But if a man says that he 's a virgin in this millenium era, who would trust even it's true?
From muslim religion point of view, of coz those kind of things are forbidden… in Al Quran, it was stated that “ Penzina will be match-made with penzina” …and there are some concrete reason why this kind of things are forbidden…..but somehow we can never know our destiny…sometimes a good man will be matched with “bad” woman and vice versa….sometimes the good ones were meant to guide the “bad” ones…something like that…..only God to decide and determine…everybody do mistakes and it is always never too late to regret and ask for forgiveness from the Almighty..
For the economy, it can be a significant mechanism to enhance the economy…free sex is the potential sector in contributing to the population rate where the birth rate will increase and this is in line with government’s effort to increase the population up to 60 million (if im not mistaken) by 2020. However, this is subject to if the couple decided not to throw the new born child in the trash bin, toilet and from the 10th floor of a condo.. On the other hand, the risk is the spreading of HIV..also a social illness.
Free sex will also boost up the rubber industry where the usage of condoms and its kind is expected to increase. When the demand for condoms increases, indirect impact, the price of rubber will also increase although not in a big impact as compared to other rubber products like tyres etc.. directly, it will also create more employment opportunities for the local economy and the unemployment rate will decrease..
Conclusion / moral of the story:
You determine what you want.. so many paths out there…its your choice and your life…everything has got its alternative costs…we cant just get everything we want…there are things that we have to forgone when we get something else…follow your instinct…never regret for what God had given to you either good ones or bad ones because all are just tests for you…the real life is the eternal life…current life is just temporary…you may enjoy it but with limitations I supposed….
Wsalam…

Amen bro.. i like the "economic" twist u've given in the end of ur article..
izzit more of a social commentary or just a cynical remarks of todays modern world...
alas, i dun think that by encouraging free sex, leads to population boost... maybe increase in abortion rate perhaps and mushrooming of illigal abortion clinics.. god forbid!!
anyway, it is an interesting insight and well written article...
kudos
